Being in pre-production mode this month I thought it might be interesting to share my essential plugins for demoing and production tracking.
PreSonus Limiter
This is my main plugin for use on the stereo buss while I have work in progress. Omnisphere 2 keygen reddit. Sometimes I'll switch to the Oxford Limiter down the lin, but the stock PreSonus limiter is great for when you just want to make sure your mastering file updates don't clip. The addition of true peak limiting is a huge bonus too. It's been said here by others but it bears repeating - the built in plug-in's for Studio One are very good. They may not look as pretty as your other 3rd party plug-in's but they sure can do the job. I use mine via one VCA Master that feeds the stereo buss, which limits at -1dbTP and I'll aim to get mixes to sit at around -14LUFS on the loudness meter.
Console 1 - SSL SL 4000 E Channel Strip
Studio One 3 Download
Okay this is slightly cheating because it's more of a Swiss Army knife of a plugin - but in fairness it does go on ALL my audio channels in its default setting. As a fairly recent convert to the Console 1 hardware / software - I can't quite believe how it has taken over my workflow so comprehensively. It comes with the SSL 4000 console emulation as standard issue, and of course you can elect to use other Softube modules in the place of the standard EQ/comp/transient shaper. Its not on my list here but I quite often replace the EQ section with a Tube-Tec PE 1C on kick drums and bass guitars so I can get what I call the 'rubber band' sound using the low end trick. I asked around before getting the Console 1 and didn't hear a bad word against it. It's really one of those acquirements where you fire it up and congratulate yourself all over again for being smart enough to buy one.
Soundtoys EchoBoy Jr Delay
From the glorious Sountoys collection! Their stuff is just brilliant so it's hard to choose a favourite plugin from them. Bajar virtual dj gratis. But this list is strictly about essentials . So from all the delays I own this is the one that I've grown to rely on. Even though it's cut down version of the Echo Boy its no slouch. You have six flavours to choose from and simply from a sonic point of view, it's rather good on the ears. Usually I'll have one used subtly on the snare buss, and on rhythm guitars where I want to give the tiniest hint of space but reverb might be too much.

Softube TSAR-1R Reverb
Another cut down plugin, and a great one. I don't actually own the larger version just yet but I find I can get great results very quickly with the TSAR-1R. In all honesty my choices of reverb and delay are partly based on ease of use when I'm tracking. Fewer controls means less fiddling about in the early stages, but quite often they won't get switched out when I embark on the final mixes.
Kush UBK1 Compressor
The mighty house of KUSH plug-in's had to make an appearance, and for me it’s a UBK1 on the drum buss. It's such a character this plugin. The design, as with all the KUSH plug-in's, steers you into listening to your material rather than mixing by numbers. With its five fixed settings you tweak the thresholds to get results and the UBK1 really reaps rewards when you get into it. There's something about this compressor that really can generate some excitement to the mix.
Honourable Mentions
Softube Tonelux Tilt - when I'm tracking a lot of acoustic guitars / ukuleles / mandolin's - this goes a long way to avoiding any low mid mud!
iZotope Insight - for when normal metering just doesn't have enough graphic punch. In all seriousness though this has it all. Peaks, loudness, spectral metering. You really can't go wrong.
Soundtoys Decapitator - incredible hardware modelled saturation, and the name does it justice! I like it a bit too much so I ration myself or ALL my mixes would be Nine Inch Nails-esque…
Of course this kind of essentials list has a tendency to morph over time, so I expect it will be quite funny to read it in a few months time and see what has changed.
