The Roland TD-9 V-Drum sound module turns your V-Drums into incredibly intense performance and rehearsal tools. The TD-9 is loaded with hundreds of new sounds, genuine audio songs and patterns, and it includes practical functions such as Scope Mode and Quick Record/Play functions for rehearsal and playback. (The device end of the cable needs to be 1/8″ stereo mini, the Roland end of the cable needs to be one of these three depending on the model: 1/8″ stereo mini, 1/4″ stereo, or 1/4″ RCA; available at Capital Music, Best Buy, Amazon.com, etc.) Music apps that Interact with features of a Roland Digital piano. Nov 08, 2015  This is a midi setting on the Roland Kit. I don't think it's isolated to the TD-11. I have a TD-11K, but my TD-1 had the same type of issue. There are numbers assigned to each trigger, so by default the Crash 1 cymbal edge zone is #54. This isn't assigned to any 'note' in GarageBand. With the TD-25K, serious drummers can tap into high-end V-Drums playability in a mid-level kit for home and studio. Equipped with a sound engine derived from the flagship TD-30, the TD-25K delivers all the acclaimed expressiveness that makes Roland’s top-line V-Drums the undisputed choice of. Sounding a click (metronome) (&p. 9) You can practice while listening to a click sound. Practicing along with a song (&p. 9) Songs that are ideal for practice are built into this unit. You can practice along with these songs. Recording a song that you’re practicing (&p. 10) You can use the recording function to evaluate your own performance.

I have a Roland TD-12 V-Drum setup, a MIDI interface, with Garageband 4 on a MacBook Pro.
I can record the drums using an audio out cable from the TD-12 brain directly into Garageband, that's fine. However, I'd like to do this using MIDI instead, and I'm realizing that maybe Garageband does not have this capability.. but maybe I'm wrong, am I?
If I am wrong, should I be using Logic Express, or Logic Pro instead?
Any words of wisdom on this subject is much appreciated.
Thanks.

I have a set of electric drums, specifically the Roland TD-11 series. I recently bought a MIDI cable and the Midisport 1x1 adapter. So I have a line going from my drum module to the adapter (which is necessarily a tiny box), and the adapter is plugged my Macbook.

Here's my problem:

When I open garageband and start playing my drums, the Garageband app itself will not recognize the edge of the hi-hat pad AND the edge of the crash cymbals. So whenever I hit the edge of either my hi-hat pad or crash cymbal pad, there is no sound out of my computer. It WILL however recognize the center of the hi-hat and cymbals, in addition to recognizing all of the other pieces of the set (snare, toms, ride cymbal, etc.)

I believe the problem is coming from the Garageband app itself. Whenever I hit the edge of the hi-hat and my crash (the two pads that don't work), there is a green light on my adapter, indicating that it is detecting those sounds.

I appreciate all help that anyone has to offer me, and I hope that I hear a response soon in order to begin actually recording these drums.

Thank you

Nov 30, 2017  Drummer is one of GarageBand’s best features. It’s a virtual drummer that comes up with entire drum parts for your song. Or rather, it’s 15 drummers, each of whom has a different style, from hard rock to Latin rhythms, to trap and dubstep, to the hippie Finn, with his cajon and hand claps. Drum tracks for garageband. Jan 10, 2018  Use the Beat Sequencer in GarageBand for iOS In GarageBand for iOS 2.3, build grooves on your iPhone or iPad with an interface inspired by classic drum machines, then add the groove to your song. To get started using Beat Sequencer, either create a new song or open an existing one. Add Apple Loops in GarageBand for iPad GarageBand includes a set of Apple Loops you can use to easily add drum beats, bass lines, rhythm parts, and other sounds to a song. Loops contain musical patterns that can be seamlessly repeated over and over. You can extend a loop to fill any amount of time. Use the Beat Sequencer in GarageBand for iPad. You can create repeating drum patterns with the Beat Sequencer by tapping squares or steps in a grid. Each grid row controls a different drum sound (kit piece), and each column represents a beat in the pattern. When the Beat Sequencer is on (running), each lit step plays its corresponding sound.
